Mailchimp has a Tags concept which allows you to organize and structure your contacts in clean, consistent, and specific ways to your business. You can then target a subset of your contacts based on tag(s) on the given contacts.
The TRYTN system will automatically create a customer (contact) and add tags in two scenarios: a cart is created on the consumer-facing booking engine with an email address, or a purchase is made with an email address. If a purchase is made on the back office side of TRYTN without an email address a customer/contact will not be created. These are tags you may see attached to your contacts within your selected audience list:
- Source: this will include Direct, Back Office, and Invoice.
- Affiliate: if you utilize affiliates and a cart or purchase is made, the affiliate name will be included as a tag. This will enable you to target messaging to specific affiliate purchases.
- Tracking Source Code: if you utilize Tracking Source Codes and a purchase is made, the source code value will be added as a tag.
- Online Travel Agents (OTAs): if you integrate with GetYourGuide, Google Things To Do, and/or Viator, these OTA names will be added to your customer when purchases are made.
